Description

Tharawal Aboriginal Corporation is an accredited Aboriginal Medical Service in Campbelltown, New South Wales. We are seeking to recruit a bus driver/general assistant to assist in the transportation and operations of our new Aboriginal Early Childhood and Family Centre, Waranwarin. He/She will ensure compliance with the philosophies and procedures of Waranwarin AEC&FC and work as part of a winning team.

To apply for this position the applicant must demonstrate that he/she has the following skills and qualifications.

Essential Criteria:

• Aboriginality
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience as an Aboriginal Community Liaison/ Intake officer
• Ability to establish links and liaise with community, government and non-government organisations.
• Knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal children, families and the local community (Campbelltown LGA).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Power-point and Data-base.
• Engage and communicate with individual Aboriginal children and families.
• Respect for and understanding of Aboriginal Identity.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• High level of communication skills including, written, ICT, oral and report writing skills.
• Understanding and knowledge of OH&S, EEO and ethical work practices.
• Knowledge and understanding of government regulations pertaining to children's services.
• Acceptance from Working with Children Check
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to gain a certificate.
• Current Driver's Licence or willingness to gain a licence.
