Ipswich City Council invites applications from enthusiastic and committed people for the 2012 Traineeship Program. We offer traineeships in the areas of:
- Business (Office Administration)
- Arts Administration
- Horticulture
- Conservation
- Animal Studies
- Regulatory Services
These positions present an exciting opportunity for people who wish to gain both on the job experience and formal qualifications.
These traineeships are for a period of 12 months and upon the successful completion of the traineeship you will receive a Certificate II or III level of achievement in your desired field. It is expected that the traineeships will commence in February/March 2012.
To be eligible for these traineeships you must belong to at least one or more of the following groups:
- Youth aged between 15 and 24 years
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
- People from a non-English speaking background
- People with a disability
- Long term unemployed people
- Women re-entering the workforce
- Mature age people
- Australian South Sea Islanders
Applications must include:

Applications should consist of:
- A covering letter (quoting the reference number of the position above) of no more than 2 pages outlining the key reasons for your interest in the role, your contact address and telephone number; and
- A copy of your resume, that includes details of education and qualifications and your employment history in chronological order starting with current position and the names and contact details of two referees.
